Utan Churchill hade antagligen betydligt mjukare, brittiska högerandar ur kretsen kring Chamberlein genomdrivit någon form av fredsuppgörelse med Nazityskland omedelbart efter Frankrikes fall. WC åtnjöt i hög grad labours förtroende och kunde räkna med arbetarpartiets stöd i parlamentet när det konservativa partiet var splittrat i utrikespolitiken.
Hitler ska ha blivit fruktansvärt upprörd då Churchill i parlamentet efter Frankrikes fall deklarerade att den brittiska regeringen endast hade en enda målsättning - att utplåna varje spår av nazismen.
Churchill skrev historia inte enbart med pennan.

Det finns ett citat som jag tror är Churchills som egentligen bara är ett utveckling av Von Clausewitz berömda citat

Förstår ni min poäng. jag vill veta vart och när det som sagts har sagts. Annars är det svårt att bedöma kontexten.
Jag skulle t.ex. kunna hävda (Nu gör jag inte det, eftersom det är helt befängt) att detta citat handlar om då Nazityskland är borta så kommer judarna att börja sitt trams igen.
