Farfar är mer eller mindre aktiv frimurare. Sticker iväg på möten titt som tätt, fullt iklädd kostym, sitt frimurarband och en liten brosch satt i brösthöjd. Givetvis är jag otroligt nyfiken på vad det hela handlar om så jag har självklart försökt pumpa honom på information, men han tiger som muren (lägg märke till ordvitsen!) Det enda han egentligen berättat är att det i mångt och mycket handlar om att hjälpa andra människor och bry sig, att utföra diverse uppgifter för att stiga i grad och liknande saker.

Angående det här med konspirationsteorier så finns det ju en att frimurarna låg bakom Jack the Ripper-morden i London, East End (sent 1800-tal.) Det är ju den som tas upp i senaste filmen baserad på händelserna.

För en frimurare är det fascinerande över ståhejet. Odd Fellow-Orden är till exempel dubbelt så stor i Sverige jfr med Svenska Frimurare Orden, och det finns över 200 andra ordenssällskap i Sverige som man skulle inkludera i konspirationsteorierna. Men icke..! :?

Frimureriet kokar ner till tre syften:
'personlighetsutveckling (genom ritualerna, "een sedelärande Scholae" som man skrev på 1700-talet)
'människokärlek (genom insamlingar till behövande)
samt
' brödragemenskap (samkväm & middagar)

Kan hålla med Jonar242 att man som frimurare blir fascinerad över ståhejet. Den svenska frimurareorden är idag ett av landets mest öppna organisationer, där allt är öppet utom vad som pågår under ritualerna. Vem som helst kan idag få tag på matriklar över ordens alla medlemmar och ordens lagar finns på nätet.

Kan som icke frimurar bli lika förvånad över uppmärksamheten. Men förstår dock inte mig på denna organisation.

Om alla frimurare va så snälla som alla alla ironiska inlägg inte antyder så är det väl bara att öppna upp organisationenn i sann demokratisk anda, tillåta kvinnor att bli fullvärdiga medlemmar i sann feministisk anda.

Vi lever på 2000-talet måste man hålla på med sådana här instängda 1700-tals samhällsklubbar?

Öppna personlighetsutvecklings kurser samt hjälporganisationer utan massa män i fina skräddarsydda kavajer (de högre graderna) som sitter på stora plånböcker och med mycket makt finns det gott om.

Observera att jag inte är någon patetisk nationalist lr nazist som tror att alla judar springer runt och håller möten varje söndag för att ta över världen.

Kruxet är att kärnan i frimureriets personlighetsutveckling, de ritualer som man genomgår i de olika graderna, helt förlorar sin verkan om man känner ritualerna i förväg. Av det skälet, "överraskningarnas pedagogik" är ritualdelen är sluten för utomstående. I stort sett allt annat är tillgängligt för utomstående. Det är också så att om man förvandlar frimureriet till en kurs - då har ju frimureriet förlorat själva kärnan. Då är det inte ett ordenssällskap längre, och i så fall kan man lika gärna söka vilket annan personlighetsutvecklande kurs som helst. Det som motiverar frimureriets existensberättigande än idag är helt enkelt att man inte ändrar på förhållandena.

När det gäller kvinnor, så har frimureriet av tradition valt att inte inkludera dessa. Däremot finns ofta egna, separata organisationer för kvinnor. Mariaorden och Svenska Frimurare Orden betraktas ibland som den kvinnliga och manliga parhästen (även om ingen formell koppling finns). Odd Fellow-orden har sina Rebecka-systrar som i stort arbetar efter samma ritual som männen. Förenade Gamla Druid ORden har Birgitta-systrar. O.s.v. Hur man har löst den kvinnliga delen måste vara upp till varje enskild orden och de kvinnor som står orden nära. Det är också ett socialogiskt faktum att formen med ordenssällskap på något sätt tilltalar män mer än kvinnor: det finns långt över hundra rent manliga ordenssällskap, medan det bara finns en handfull kvinnliga. Jag förstår inte det nödvändiga att påtvinga endera könet något som man inte verkar vara intresserad av, där möjlighet för de som är intresserade att gå med redan finns.

Och än en gång: det är en myt att ordenssällskapen samlar rikets mäktigaste män. :roll: På Gustaf III:s tid var många framstående personer i samhället frimurare, men numera är det i stort sett ett nöje för övre medelklassen. De verkligt mäktiga verkar inte ha tid eller intresse för ordenssällskap, utan söker sig till andra sammanslutningar. Peka för mig ut någon i regeringen som är medlem i ett ordenssällskap, eller någon av näringslivets höjdare.

Tesen att frimurarna (än en gång: varför just frimurarna av alla tusentals existerande ordenssällskap???) rycker i världens trådar kommer till för att de förenklar komplicerade orsakssammanhang till något enkelt, begrepligt, fullständigt felaktigt och helt grundlöst, ex: "EU styrs av frimurare, och de tar makten över Sverige!" Att sådana mytiska teser förs vidare är möjligt eftersom det är lättare att upprätthålla dem än att verkligen sätta sig in i hur Riksdagen, regeringen och EU verkligen arbetar. :roll:

Varför vi gör saker får du ställa dig själv. Anledningen till att frimurarorden överlever beror på att dess medlemmar känner att orden ger dem något. Vad detta något är, är individuellt.

Till att börja med vill jag bara säga att ni lyckats väl med att få mig att frmstå som någon meterlångskäggprydd eremit som naivt tror på allt folk säger till en och likt en idealist tror på frimureriets strävan att "ta över världen". :)

Själva problematiken med frimureriets och den grundläggande faktorn till vad som skapat denna mystik är ju självklart hemlighetsmakeriet. Och om det nu är som du säger, att man måste hålla ritualerna hemliga etc. så finns det ingen lösning på detta.

Men problemet kvarstår, för oss simpla människor som ej tillhör "övre medelklassen" och inte förstår oss på denna ordernsromatik, tycker att man kan gå någon buddistisk form av personlighets utveckling om man söker efter något exotiskt. Sen kan man på kvällen gå på trevliga små middagar (eller stora) med någon helt öppen ordern.

Sen finns det också ytterligare några problem som fastslår frågeställningarna och gör hela mystiken ännu mer mystisk. De fynd som nämndes i de tidigare inläggen, vad handlar de om?

Läser man om ordern på kritiska ställen så sägs det bara att de högre medlemmarna blir invigda i orderns "hemliga agenda" (om det nu finns). Och jag skulle vilja gisssa att dessa i så fall knappast är i från medelklassen, men jag kan ha fel.

Tillslut skulle jag vilja påstå att jag bara undrar lite om denna ordern. Jag sitter knappast själv ute i skogen och väntar på "ert maktövertagande". Så vi kan väl föra disskusionen på ett vettig sätt och behandla varanndra me likvärdigrespekt och utan :roll: tecken?

Jag ber om ursäkt för :roll:, men det trist att man i alla sammanhang måste försvara sig mot samma återkommande påståenden som cirkulerar från källor som inte är helt tillförlitliga. Och än en gång: varför bara frimurarna: det finns till exempel vissa indikationer på att Rotary har blivit ett medel för lokalpolitiker att hitta varandra och "göra upp". Jag har sett ett reportage i Metro om det.

Det finns ingen världsledning för frimureriet. Varje lands frimurarorganisation har bara jurisdiktion över sitt eget land. Eftersom det finns en mängd olika frimurarsystem med bl.a. 3, 7, 11, 14, 33, 95 grader så betyder det också att innehållet i de olika frimurarsystemen skiljer sig från varandra. Det betyder att de legender man knyter an till är olika. Jag känner inte igen mycket av det som finns nedan. Sant är att många politiker var frimurare under turbulenta perioder i Italien/Frankrike under 1800-talet och i latinamerika under 1900-talet (i Chile både störtade Allende och efterträdaren Pinochet), och det är delvis förklaringen till myten om konspirationerna. Det betyder dock inte att frimurarna har en politisk agenda...

När det gäller problematiken med "hidden agenda" så står i Svenska Frimurare Ordens stadgar - som f.ö. finns som .pdf på ordens hemsida - att frimureriet är stiftat för "att öva dygden och kuva lasten". En av punkterna är "En frimurare skall noga väga tal och ord. Vad han säger skall präglas av sanning, och vad han lovar skall vara fast." Svenska Frimurare ORdens motto är Veritas Persuadet (Sanningen övertygar)Eftersom en frimurare skall präglas av sanning, och de högsta ordensmedlemmarna i Sverige i media (ex. Expressen i mitten av 90-talet) förnekat förekomsten av ett inre förbund, så måste konsekvensen bli att ett sådant inte finns i Sverige (och troligen ingen annanstans i världen heller, eftersom värdegrund är samma världen över även om ritualerna är olika).

Den historiska utvecklingen är troligen att hantverksskrån (ex. murarna) började anta en del personer med högre status som beskyddare och för att få högre status. Så småningom blev dessa tongivande och gillena blev mindre kopplade till sina yrken och mer av sällskapsklubbar. Detta skedde i slutet av 1600-talet och början av 1700-talet. Men det är inte så spännande att ha en så kort förhistoria, och i något så oglamoröst som hantverksyrken. Man uppfann därför legender om att man var ett uråldrigt sällskap med anknytning till pyramiderna, Jerusalems tempel och Tempelherreorden m.m. Det är dock viktigt att komma ihåg att det fortfarande är myt, inte historia, och betraktas av alla frimurare (med huvudet rätt påskruvat) som sådan.

När jag skrev övre medelklass, så är det där genomsnittet ligger. Det finns personer från alla olika klasser: det som begränsar är kanske mest kostnaderna (ca 2000 kr per år). Man ska vara 24 år, kristen, känd för ett redbart leverna och ha två faddrar. Känner man ingen så får man skriva till närmaste loge och presentera sig och sitt intresse av att bli medlem. Bortsett från det finns inga spärrar.

Varför är jag med i ett ordenssällskap? Av flera skäl:
-mina far- och morföräldrar gick bort tidigt så det är kul att träffa äldre herrar att prata med (jag är själv 35)
-det är skönt att ca 2 ggr per månad komma bort från vardagslunken och göra något brutalt annorlunda.
- detta annorlunda är att betrakta/delta i ett skådespel, som i stort sett inte förändrats sedan 1800, och som går tillbaka till 1700-talet (och även vissa äldre typer av mysteriespel) - språket är en underbar 1700-talssvenska.
- det är intressant att sitta och fundera på de olika aspekterna av ritualerna ("personlighetsutveckling")
- det är en möjlighet att träffa likasinnade över en måltid
- det är ett perfekt sätt att kombinera ett intresse för historia, religion och legender.
och
- vid varje sammankomst är det en plikt att bidra till insamlingarna till de behövande.

Hade jag tid och råd skulle jag gärna vilja vara med i flera ordenssällskap bara för att det är så kul.

Hmm jo jag förstår lite mer nu i villke fall. Och som sagt jag brinner inte på något sätt för det här och försöker motbevisa allt du säger utan egentligen snarare tvärtom, jag vill försöka förstå hela meningen med allt och hemlighetsmakeritet osv.

Visst källorna är int tillförlitliga kanske, men jag har knappast stött på några andra källor från motsvarande håll som skulle vara mer pålitliga.

Om jag förstod det rätt så är Rotary och odd fellows etc. en del av frimurarnas organisation.

Men det jag skulle vilja fråga dig som frimurare är varför du tror att det kommit upp sådana här konsp. teorier om det inte fanns någon grund för dom.

Konspirationsteorierna kring frimurarna är väl inte annorlunda än det som misstänks när topparna i ett samhälle har någon annan gemensam träffpunkt än genom samhällets funktioner.

Låt oss säga att de ledande kommunalpolitikerna i en mindre ort är med i samma frikyrka. Det ligger då nära till hands att misstänka att den frikyrkan då har en indirekt makt på den orten. En makt som ligger vid sidan av samhällets reguljära organisation.

Frimurarna finns ju över hela världen. De rekryterar påfallande många högt uppsatta personer inom samhället. En frimurare kan också identifiera sig för en annan genom hemliga koder och tecken. Och så påstås det att i den ed man svär när man går med i frimurarna så står att den främsta lojaliteten skall vara mot orden. Den lojaliteten skall stå över all annan lojalitet. Inte undra på att de blir misstänkta för både det ena och det andra........

Skall väl berätta en erfarenhet som ligger kanske 15 år tillbaka. Jag och en kollega var i Canada på ett ganska knepigt uppdrag för vår arbetsgivare. Det gick inte helt bra och vi var väldigt beroende av att en Canadensisk myndighetsperson visade lite välvilja. Inte något som var över kanten men bara att han inte var negativ. När denne kom till platsen hälsade min kompis på honom, så gick de avsides. Efter fem minuter kom han till mig och sade tyst: Det här ordnar sig - han är frimurare, det är jag också........ (Saken ordnade sig).

Jag vill dra en parallell till det gamla klassiska judehatet. Egentligen har väl detta i grunden samma rötter som kritiken mot frimurarna och andra liknande organisationer. Judar finns över hela världen. De är solidariska med varandra (åtmindstone utåt sett). De samarbetar och de är vanligen framgångsrika i det de gör. Alltså ligger slutsatsen klar - det är en världsomfattande konspiration........

15 kap 6§ Svenska Frimurare Ordens Allmänna lagar
"Det är förbjudet att i loge behandla politiska, religiösa eller sociala tvistefrågor..." och

15 kap 10§ Svenska Frimurare Ordens Allmänna lagar
"När sammankomst avslutas bör måltid eller annat samkväm ordnas. Inte heller vid sådant tillfälle får frågor av det slag som nämns i 6§ upptas till behandling."

Den lydnad som Orden kräver gäller uteslutande frimureriska angelägenheter."

Och vad är då Ordens ändamål:

1 kap 1§ Svenska Frimurare Ordens Allmänna lagar
"... Ordens syfte är att meddela sina medlemmar upplysning i den ädla vetenskapen att öva dygden och kuva lasten samt att förläna dem insikt och kraft för att kunna lägga band på sina begär och undertrycka sina onda böjelser. (...)

Svenska Frimurare Orden är en självständig sammanslutning som inte är underordnad någon annan frimurarmyndighet. Orden lyder inte under någon annan än rikets lagliga överhet. ..."

och dessutom:

1 kap 2§ Svenska Frimurare Ordens Allmänna lagar
"Orden skall utöver vad som sägs i 1§, utan att i sin verksamhet tillgodose medlemmarnas ekonomiska intressen, främja religiösa, välgörande, sociala och andra därmed jämförliga kulturella eller annars allmännyttiga ändsamål"

Donkeyman tror alltså tillsammans med nazisterna att det föreligger en judisk konspiration? Eller menar han att det är samma slags slutsatser som folk drar?

Jag kan förstå att frimureriet i Sverige blev misstänkliggjort för 100 år sedan då Orden var helt hemligt. En frimurare sa inte ens till sin familj att han skulle gå på loge. Idag då frimurarorden och dess verksamhet är öppen, bortsett från ritualerna, finns det inga skäl att bygga några konspiratonsteorier kring den. Ordens syfte är att göra medlemmarna till bättre människor.
