Det som jag fick lära mig (...) var enbart detta; andra har hört att efter-aparna, när de som idolen satte en kula i huvudet, dessutom hade på sig Werther-dräkt och rentav ett exemplar av boken i fickan, för att undanröja varje tvivel om inspirationskällan - vad det nu skulle vara bra för (säkert något psykologiskt). Fast hur skulle man annars komma fram till siffran 2000, som jag aldrig sett förrän nu? Några källor anges, samtliga verkar behandla boken ur litterär synpunkt.

Det vore intressant att få exempel på faktiska, uppenbart Werther-inspirerade självmord, eftersom det hela ju blivit ett begrepp. Även om de är långt färre än 2000.
