Hello,
i have recently found some websites that have photos and information of the Tuvan army pre WW2.
As you can see from the links the Tuvans wore Soviet uniforms , but seem to have had their own rank insignia.
history and photos- http://mil-history.livejournal.com/648063.html
for a photo of the Tuvan officer rank insignia , (last photo) - http://en.tuvaonline.ru/2010/02/23/4600 ... y-ool.html
1- does anyone know what colour the Tuvan collar patches were ? blue for cavalry?
2- did all ranks wear collar patches or just officers ?
3- what rank insignia was used by the TUvan army pre 1941 ? they seem to have their own non-Soviet insignia.
Pat.

Welcome to the forum! Please be advised that as per the forum rules, discussions are in Swedish, Norwegian or Danish. While someone might know anything about your query, you might want to post your question on the big sister of this forum, the English-language Axis History Forum, which contrary to the name covers pretty much everything regarding 20th century warfare, and not just the antics of the Axis powers.
